Game Review and What To Expect in the Game

The game has the same amount of gore and violence that you have come to know and love in the franchise. Incredibly brutal kills are made. Weapons can be torn from enemies and used to destroy your foes around you. You will also be tasked to take down gargantuan foes quickly and strategically just as you have done in games before. In addition to this you will also be able to do something that has not been done in God of War before and that is participating in multiplayer mode.

In this mode you will battle against other opponents as well as take down giant foes just like in the campaign. This sounds fun but some people may be disappointed about the fact that Kratos will not be involved in multiplayer. That is right Kratos is just one of many Gods of War: Ascension Characters you will be able to use. When you are participating in multiplayer you will have the option of using a Spartan that has pledged their allegiance to one of the four gods. With that pledge the character gets certain weapons, and perks that other characters will not receive. The game makes this transition from Kratos to another Spartan easy since your new character has the same bone breaking, creature destroying abilities that the original God of War does.

When it comes to abilities such as fighting and exploring God of War: Ascension Gameplay holds true to the way the other games in franchise played. You can expect to do a lot of running and jumping using recently acquired weapons to help you navigate through terrains. You will also be battling creatures and using the simple although cinematic battling mechanics that have made the God of War games so enjoyable to play. The puzzles aren’t terribly difficult but some of them may require you to do a little thinking in order to get through them. In terms of gameplay God of War: Ascension feels like more of the same but that is definitely a good thing in this area of the game.

Although there is a lot of emphasis on the new multiplayer mode of God of War: Ascension the single player campaign has not been neglected. This game is a prequel and it tells the player all about the God of War and how Kratos ascended to God like status.

Don’t expect to tackle Gods and Titans the way you have done in previous God of War games. Ascension brings things down to a more human level. Although your opponents won’t be members of mount Olympus that does not mean they will be easier to battle. The enemies will still be incredibly large and have abilities that will make the game just as challenging and fun as it has been in the past. The God of War: Ascension Game Release Date is supposed to be March 2013 so look forward to it then.
