THANK YOU HEALTHY DROPPERS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.
This is a shocking news to all mothers using formula for their babies. If you’re using products from China, you should think to stop now because of this horrible news. A lot of babies already sick and four had already died. How come China did this to all their consumers. How come they put the life of the people in danger. Are they human? They been covering this issue for long time, now it’s time for them to pay.
A CHINESE company whose tainted baby milk has made thousands of children ill failed to report complaints about the product for months, state media has reported.
Sanlu Group, the dairy company first found to be selling melamine-contaminated goods, began receiving complaints of sick children as early as last December, state television said yesterday, citing a cabinet investigation. But the problem was covered up until August.
Tainted milk products from Sanlu and other companies have left a total of 53,000 babies ill. Four have died.
The report came as Australian food safety authorities said Chinese lollies recalled overseas but available in Australia would not be pulled from shelves unless there was evidence they were contaminated.
Tests in Singapore revealed White Rabbit Creamy Candy contained traces of melamine. The company has since recalled the product. Australian food authorities are waiting for test results, expected by tomorrow.
Lydia Buchtmann from Food Standards Australia and New Zealand said no Chinese-made infant formula products were imported, and products with milk as a primary ingredient had not been imported in more than a year. Authorities were now trying to detect other Chinese products that may contain minor amounts of milk.
In Beijing, the state media report appeared to be the first official confirmation that news of the risks posed by the milk products was suppressed.
It said Communist Party officials in the north Chinese city of Shijiazhuang, where Sanlu is based, delayed referring the matter to higher authorities for more than a month after Sanlu finally told them of the problem on August 2 — just before the Beijing Olympics.
“In the eight months from December 2007 to August 2, 2008, Sanlu made no report to relevant authorities in Shijiazhuang and took no corrective measures, allowing the situation to worsen further,” the report on state-run CCTV’s news channel said. “(Sanlu and Shijiazhuang officials) violated rules on reporting major incidents involving food safety.
Reports of tainted milk emerged in state-run media only this month. The chemical melamine, normally used in making plastics, was apparently added to milk to give the appearance of higher protein levels.
Although it knew children were falling ill last December, Sanlu Group did not even begin testing its milk for dangerous substances until June, the cabinet probe reportedly found.
The Government has blamed tainted products for four deaths, and said that 12,892 children remained in hospital with kidney problems, 104 of them in a serious condition.
The repercussions outside mainland China continued to mount, with Hong Kong officials reporting a second child ill with a kidney stone after drinking Chinese dairy products.
The scandal claimed its biggest political scalp so far with the resignation of China’s product-safety watchdog chief, Li Changjiang, on Monday.

In November, a rare kind of breast cancer was found. A lady developed a rash on her breast, similar to that of young mothers who are nursing.
Because her mammogram had been clear, the doctor treated her with antibiotics for infections. After 2 rounds, it continued to get worse, so her doctor sent her for another mammogram. This time it showed a mass.
A biopsy found a fast growing malignancy. Chemo was started in order to shrink the growth; then a mastectomy was performed; then a full round of Chemo; then radiation. After about 9 months of intense treatment, she was given a clean bill of health.
She had one year of living each day to itsfullest.
Then the cancer returned to the liver area. She took 4 treatments and decided that she wanted quality of life, not the after effects of Chemo. She had 5 great months and she planned each detail of the final days. After a few days of needing morphine, she died. She left this message to be delivered to women everywhere:
Women, PLEASE be alert to anything that is not normal, and be persistent in getting help as soon as possible.
Paget’s Disease:
This is a rare form of breast cancer, and is on the outside of the breast, on the nipple and aureole
It appeared as a rash, which later became a lesion with a crusty outer edge. I would not have ever suspected it to be breast cancer but it was…
My nipple never seemed any different to me, but the rash bothered me, so I went to the doctor for that. Sometimes, it itched and was sore, but other than that it didn’t bother me. It was just ugly and a nuisance, and could not be cleared up with all the creams prescribed by my doctor and dermatologist for the dermatitis on my eyes just prior to this outbreak. They seemed a little concerned but did not warn me it could be cancerous.
Now, I suspect not many women out there know a lesion or rash on the nipple or aureole can be breast cancer.
(Mine started out as a single red pimple on the aureole.
One of the biggest problems with Paget’s disease of the nipple is that the symptoms appear to be harmless.
It is frequently thought to be a skin inflammation or
infection, leading to unfortunate delays in detection and care.)
What are the symptoms?
1. A persistent redness, oozing, and crusting of your nipple causing it to itch and burn (As I stated, mine did not itch or burn much, and had no oozing I was aware of, but it did have a crust along the outer edge on one side.)
2. A sore on your nipple that will not heal.
(Mine was on the aureole area with a whitish thick looking area in center of nipple).
3. Usually only one nipple is effected. How is it diagnosed?
Your doctor will do a physical exam and should suggest having a mammogram of both breasts, done immediately.
Even though the redness, oozing and crusting closely resemble dermatitis (inflammation of the skin),
your doctor should suspect cancer if the sore is only on one breast.
Your doctor should order a biopsy of your sore to confirm what is going on.
This message should be taken seriously and passed on to as many of your relatives and friends as possible; it could save someone’s life.
My breast cancer has spread and metastasized to my bones after receiving mega doses of chemotherapy, 28 treatments of radiation and taking Tamaxofin. If this had been diagnosed as breast cancer in the beginning, perhaps it would not have spread…
TO ALL READERS:
This is sad as women are not aware of Paget’s disease. If, by passing this around on the e-mail, we can make others aware of it and its potential danger, we are helping women everywhere.
Please, if you can, take a moment to forward this message to as many people as possible, especially to your family and friends. It only takes a moment, yet the results could save a life.
Schools and universities may need to test students sitting exams for brain-improving drugs.
The Academy of Medical Sciences said drugs for diseases such as Alzheimer’s were being used be healthy people to boost alertness and memory.
The experts said if it became more of an issue, urine drug tests might be needed.
But they added brain science technology also held he key to more effective addiction and mental illness drugs.
The academy set up a working group in 2006 led by Cambridge University neuroscience expert Gabriel Horn after look at psychoactive drugs.
It said future drugs had huge potential, thanks to greater understanding of the workings of the brain.
For example, research has identified that many addictive drugs and some behavioral addictions such as gambling “hijack” neural circuits in a particular region of the brain.
Meanwhile, genes were identified that make the brain vulnerable to mental illness.
But the experts said these breakthrough had, as yet, led to limited progress in drug treatment.
The group’s report aid vaccines could be developed to neutralize addiction, pointing to the work currently being done on a jab for smoking as evidence that is was possible.
The team also turned its attention to drugs that improved brain performance, so-called cognitive enhancers.
They pointed out brain enhancers, such as caffeine, had been used for a long time.
But they warned there was anecdotal evidence drugs such as Aricept, a treatment for Alzheimer’s, were also being used by otherwise healthy people to boost alertness and memory.
Horn said regulation might be needed, adding: “We see similarities in the future use of cognition enhancers with the current use of performance enhancing drugs in sport.
Overworked corporate young guns are aging prematurely, a health expert warns.
Workaholic habits left 25-year old looking and feeling 35, with a list of lifestyle diseases to match.
Haggard faces on bloated bodies were the sure signs.
Career crusaders who slaughter their health often suffer from high blood fat, high blood pressure, frequent coughs and colds, diabetes and low energy.
And having a six-pack was no reason to relax.
Lean people abuse their bodies all week, then gorge on exercise at the weekend.
They’re going to developing the lifestyle of the weekend warrior at 25, not 35.
Despite their best intentions, weekend super-sessions are more likely to cause injury or dehydration.
It was easy to see why so many workers got hooked on the deprivation/reward cycle.
It happens because they’re working ’til 10 at night and… what sort of food is being brought into the office at seven or eight o’clock at night?
They’re aging prematurely.
Fresh food shops in the city and getting active midweek were health lifelines for workaholics.
And getting active midweek was he other side of the solution for people walking the tightrope between work goals and life commitments.
“They should act their age.” said Karen Inge, a dietitian consultant.
Alcohol helps us remember the good times and forget the bad.
Researcher say alcohol affects memory formation, so memories of the stat of the night, when we are just tipsy and having fun socializing with friends, are strong happy.
But any embarrassing antics that happen as we become more and more drunk are quickly forgotten.
The discovery of alcohol helps us remember the good and brush aside the bad could explain or fascination with alcohol.
According to a researcher, this bias towards positive memories means that people are more likely to drink heavily the next time they go out because they only remember the good memories about the last time.
The Sussex University researcher looked at how well people recalled flash cards shown just before and just after drinking several units of alcohol.
Their answers were compared with those from a similar group given alcohol-free drinks.
The drinkers remembered the first set of cards better than the non-drinkers.
Bur they scored worse than the non-drinkers when asked to remember the second set of cards, with emotional scenes proving hard to remember.
It is though small amounts of alcohol prevent the brain from forming new memories and help consolidate memories of things that happen just before we start drinking.
Bur, in high quantities, alcohol may interfere with the brain chemicals involved in memory formation.
This bundle of blubber may only be 11 months old, but he is already the size of an eight-year-old.
The giant baby tips the scales at a whopping 61lbs 12oz (28kg) and stands four and a half stone larger than his older brother. Due to his hefty frame the toddler also has to wear huge nappies.
His mother, Milena Orosco de Agudelo, said her son started ballooning at just two months old.
The baby has had undergone a number of medical examinations which suggest he may have a problem with his endocrine system.
Ms Orosco said: ‘He had some tests done and the results show that he has a thyroid malfunction.
‘Then, he had a cardiogram test done and that test shows that he has the bones of an eight-year-old boy, but they have not told me where that came from.’
The normal weight for a boy his age is between 13lbs 4oz and 15lbs 7oz (6-7kg) and now baffled doctors in Colombia are trying to work out how he became so big.
Doctor David Dias, of the Barranquilla Pediatric Hospital, said: ‘The baby will undergo more tests to see if he’s obese or we’re dealing with hyperthyroidism.’
A recent report gives us yet another reason to ensure we keep our blood pressure and cholesterol levels down. An Irish study published in the Archives of Ophthalmology found conclusively that high levels of both cholesterol and blood pressure increased the risk of suffering from eye disease.
“Similar to small blood vessels elsewhere in the body, vessels at the back of the eye are also susceptible to damage from high blood pressure,” explains Dr Danny Cheung from the Retinal Vascular Imaging Centre at the Centre of Eye Research Australia.
“Chronic hypertension can lead to the development of several sigh-threatening eye conditions, including hypertensive retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and retinal arteriolar occlusion”
In extreme cases, disturbed blood flow causes the retina to become dysfunctional, causing complete loss of eyesight.
High cholesterol levels can be equally as damaging.
High cholesterol is a major ingredient for atherosclerosis, a common vascular disease process. In the eye, increased cholesterol promotes thrombus formation in the retinal veins, facilitating the development of retinal vein occlusion.
Dr Cheung believes that there is insufficient awareness of the connection between eyesight and high blood pressure and cholesterol by general practitioners.
“All GPs should perform fundoscopic examination for their patients who are at risk or retinal vein occlusion.
A fundoscopic examination looks at the eye through a special light. This can be determine if there is any increased pressure inside the skull, as well as detect the presence of any eye problems.
“This is important because early detection of certain retinal vascular abnormalities, such as focal narrowing of retinal venule at crossing sites with arteriole, can help vein occlusion. “In these patients, optimisation of blood pressure and cholesterol levels is imperative for the prevention of this blinding eye disease.
